Men's Breakfast and Campout

Breakfast - Saturday 15th July 9:00-10:00am

Next month we are having a special summer men's breakfast at the Emmerson's farm on Saturday 15th July.  This will be slightly later than the usual time at 9-10am and breakfast will be a little more rustic with bacon or sausage butties, coffee/tea/juice, and some pastries.  There is also the option for a short walk (30 - 45 minutes) or a longer walk (1 hour - 1.5 hours) afterwards if people would like.

Campfire and Camping - Friday 14th July 7:30pm onwards

There is also the extra possibility to get to know each other more on Friday 14th July from 7:30pm onwards around the campfire with the option of camping over.  If people do not have their own camping gear, please contact the Church Office (churchoffice@burfordchurch.org) We can provide 2-3 man pop up tents and sleeping bags. You may want to bring something to enjoy around the fire.  We are aware that for some the idea of camping might not be their cup of tea, and so if people want to come for the evening and then heading home to a more comfortable bed that's absolutely fine - Rob will be doing that!

Other suggestions and ideas for the future men's events:

Some of us met recently to think of a few events which might fit into this aim of encouraging each other in faith and friendship, whilst also being something which we might be able to invite friends to. 

If you have any suggestions please do let me know as we are keen for there to be a variety of different things which might appeal to different folk.  Here are 3 we are hoping to run in 2023:

Autumn 2023 - A butchery evening 

Other Potential events: 

 - Going to watch a rugby fixture

 - A morning splitting logs   

 - Some evenings discussing topics such as being a good dad, how to care for elderly relatives, social media, 

If you would like to help out with organising any of the events, then please do let me know as we would like this to be something which we collectively share as men in the church, rather than events which are put on.
